The CSU Stanislaus volleyball team lost three games straight against San Francisco State on Saturday.
The lady Warriors started strong against the Gators. They lost the first game by eight points, seeming to have some trouble with side outs.
“From this learning experience, we know that when we face a similar-quality opponent, we need to slow down the pace of the game,” Coach Jan Schefkowitz said. “When we are overpowered, we need to use a better strategy, instead of trying to match power with power.”
Stanislaus finished the second round with only three points.
CSUS began showing signs of life in the third round with a minor comeback, but it wasn’t enough. S.F. State shut them out with a strong offensive assault, drawing a close to a challenging but fruitless game for the Warriors.
Schefkowitz thinks the future of the team is held by it’s players.
“Well it’s really up to them,” says Schefkowitz. “This game can be used as a tool for success in future games.”
U.C. Davis is coming to town on Friday, giving them an opportunity to put their learning experience to use. The game is at 7 p.m. in the Warrior Gym.
